Sunflower Vase
Description
This ceramic vase featuring two hand-carved sunflowers was made by Hog Hill Pottery, the studio of husband-and-wife team John and Scottie Post. With its bold floral imagery and richly textured surface, the piece reflects the couple’s deep appreciation for American pottery traditions and folk art while celebrating the beauty of the natural world.
John and Scottie met at a pottery workshop at the Hickory Museum of Art and began working together in 1993, opening their first clay studio in a former convenience store known as the Hog Hill Handy Pantry. Today, they continue to create both functional and decorative stoneware inspired by regional and national styles of American pottery. Each piece is carefully handmade and finished with their own distinctive glazes, making every work from Hog Hill Pottery uniquely their own.
