Bring an artisanal aesthetic to the table with these wheel-thrown porcelain jellyfish mugs by Anja Bartels. Anja’s designs are inspired by her love of the ocean and childhood memories of growing up in a port city on the North Sea. Each mug has a single dark blue jellyfish and features an interior Key West Blue glaze.
About Anja Bartels
Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Anja discovered pottery making while living in an intentional community in Virginia. The passion ignited, she returned home to study in the German Ceramics Guild. After completing a three-year apprenticeship with a master potter, Anja received her journeyman ceramics degree from the German Chamber of Crafts and Trades. She is now an artist-in-residence at Odyssey ClayWorks in Asheville.
Please Note: Each jellyfish mug is individually hand-thrown and hand-carved. Slight variations should be expected and embraced.
