A lifelong South Carolinian and master sculptor, Doster brings decades of experience and personal history to each piece. His creative journey began in childhood, shaped by the encouragement of his grandmother and hands-on lessons in his father’s metal shop. That early foundation sparked a lifelong passion—one that took root when he sold his first sculpture at age twelve and continues to this day.
Over his 47-year career, Doster has built a legacy not only through his art, but also through teaching, mentoring over 150,000 students across the Carolinas and beyond. Winter Leaves is part of his ongoing exploration of form and season—an invitation to find beauty in stillness, structure in simplicity, and strength in the quiet moments of the natural world.
