A celebrated sculptor from Lancaster, South Carolina, Doster has spent nearly five decades shaping steel into works that are both deeply personal and widely accessible. His journey began early, inspired by his grandmother’s painting and his father’s metal shop, where he first picked up a blowtorch at the age of eight. That hands-on upbringing instilled in him a love for materials and making that continues to this day.
