Cardinal Tumbler/Vase
Description
These delightful cardinal tumblers by North Carolina potter Vicki Gill can double as a vase to display a small bouquet of flowers. The cardinal on these tumblers is made with a wooden stamp (handmade by the artist) that is pressed into the clay when wet. The branches are drawn on. The designs are then handpainted with vibrant underglazes and finished with a tinted transparent glaze that Vicki formulated.
About Vicki Gill
Vicki has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and drawing from Louisiana State University. She honed her pottery skills at Gaston College and the renowned Penland School of Craft in North Carolina. Her forte is wheel-thrown and handbuilt white stoneware clay.
