Fine Furniture & Sculptural Wood Art
This versatile Arts and Crafts style table was handmade by local furniture maker Susan Link. Crafted from mahogany and quarter-sawn white oak, the design for this table incorporates traditional methods of construction and joinery. Susan typically keeps surface decoration to a minimum, preferring to accentuate the natural beauty of the wood and the form of the piece itself.
About Susan Link
Susan was born and raised in the mountains of Western North Carolina. She says family hikes in the Pisgah National Forest helped to foster her appreciation of the beauty in nature. Her interest in woodworking was sparked from watching her father build cabinets and built-ins for her childhood home.
Susan received her bachelor’s degree from UNC Asheville and worked in the psychiatric field for a number of years. She eventually found her way back to the creative arts in the late ’90s and has never looked back. After taking a few cabinet-making classes at A-B Tech, she enrolled in Haywood Community College’s Professional Crafts Program. Here she discovered a community of like-minded makers who opened her up to a whole new world of furniture design.
