Porcelain Tumbler


This porcelain tumbler, wheel-thrown and handcrafted in Greensboro, NC, captivates with its deep black glaze. The creation of artist Phil Haralam, it was designed for both use and enjoyment. 

About the Artist
Phil Haralam received his BFA from Guilford College and completed his MFA at Indiana University. He has taught ceramics and design at Indiana University, Guilford College, Purdue University and is currently the AFA Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Art at Rockingham Community College. Phil has been an Artist-In-Residence at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, STARworks Ceramics, and most recently A.I.R. Vallauris in France. He lives and works in Greensboro, NC, and shows his work nationally and internationally.

Phil’s studio practice is focused on both functional pottery vessels and sculpture. His wheel-thrown pottery is influenced by American studio pottery of the ‘80s and ‘90s and by the formal qualities of Song Dynasty porcelain.
