Cycle of Life

Description

This abstract interpretation of the cycle of life by local artist Cynthia Wilson radiates warmth and moving energy.

“My actual process of painting is tied more to a viewpoint and inner vision than to technique. I have to develop a sense of oneness with my subject that comes from being still, listening, and observing. Once I have an idea and begin to paint, the work takes on a life of its own. It reflects my emotions, observations, and experience as an artist.” ~ Cynthia

About Cynthia Wilson
Cynthia received a BFA in Visual Design from Auburn University. She worked in advertising for 15 years as an art director, illustrator, and graphic designer. After too many career-related moves, Cynthia decided to pursue her love of painting full-time. She moved to the Northeast and built her credibility as an artist by getting juried into several New York City art shows. She also became a signature member of the New England Watercolor Society and the National Association of Painters in Casein and Acrylic. Her big break came when her work was selected for the National Academy of Design’s Annual Exhibition. This opened many doors, including opportunities to be involved in traveling exhibitions and invitations to have one-person shows.

In 2018, Pardee Cancer Center in Hendersonville, NC, purchased three of Cynthia’s paintings. As a cancer survivor, this acquisition was especially significant to her. Cynthia’s paintings are also a part of the permanent collections at Fairfield University, Georgia Tech, the Housatonic Museum of Art, and Wachovia Bank, among others.
