Add an artistic focal point to your yard or garden with this stainless steel sculpture by Aldon Addington.
Aldon taught sculpture and 3D design at Southern Illinois University Carbondale until his retirement in 2001. While at the university, he also taught metal sculpture workshops at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland and at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland.
Since his retirement, Aldon has stayed busy pursuing his art. His stainless steel sculpture, Philosopher, was showcased along the Grand River Arts Walk in Jackson, Michigan as part of the city’s public art program. He’s also had notable commissions, including his Rings of Fellowship monument, installed in Carbondale’s Friendship Park, and his Symphony in Steel, a hanging sculpture for the Mechanical Engineering Building at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Aldon’s work can be found in several private and public collections, including Cedarhurst Sculpture Park, the Illinois State Museum, and the University of Lapland.
