Asheville artist Pamella O’Connor will be at Grovewood Gallery on February 17 and 18 from 11am – 4pm demonstrating paper gathering techniques used to create texture on her signature line of hanji flower lamps. Hanji is traditional handmade paper from Korea, made from the inner bark of Paper Mulberry, a shrub-like tree that grows throughout Asia. Hanji is extremely durable, capable of being stretched, feathered, gathered, and twisted. It’s also highly malleable, making it an ideal material for creating various handicrafts.
Pamella will have a variety of finished hanji flower lamps on display and available to purchase during her demonstration.
