Karen Scates
Karen Scates learned woodworking from her grandfather on their small farm in Woodburn, Kentucky. She has been creating miniature woodwork for over 20 years. “Granddad instilled in me a love of nature, the true beauty of wood, and a deep appreciation of fine craftsmanship.”
Karen is a juried member of Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsman and the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program. In 1993, she was chosen as one of the artists to have an ornament displayed on the White House Christmas Tree, honoring the Year of American Craft.
