Marianne Shepardson
Marianne Shepardson, the owner and designer at Shepardson Studios, has been working with fused glass since 1995. Kiln-fired glass is an ancient glass-forming technique that is enjoying a resurgence in the fine arts and crafts movement today. The lines currently produced at Shepardson Studios are created by cutting and piecing together a variety of colors of sheet glass. All cutting is done by hand, and then these pieces are assembled and fused together in kilns. The pieces then require a second firing to shape them into a bowl or plate. Many of the molds used in the slumping process are also made by hand.
