Dan Bresnahan practices his craft in his studio located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. He is a full-time sculptor who received a BFA and MFA from the University of Wisconsin. After spending most of his career in Wisconsin, he moved to the mountains of North Carolina to continue his work - large-scale sculptures primarily crafted of steel and wood.
I have had a life long fascination with drawing. I continue to observe and record my relationship to the natural landscape through sculpture in a linear form. My interest ranges from views of the broadest horizon to the smallest leaf and flower, manipulating my interpretations through materials that are primarily steel and wood. These materials offer me great flexibility for expression through forging, welding and carving.
